Appreciation for The Nature and Environment
In week 7, the instructor lectured us about appreciation for the nature and environment. Somehow, this topic is the last topic for the usrah. That night was the last night that we will be in one halaqah together and here each others talks and thoughts. After the instructor has done giving us lecture, we continued with playing a game called "bingo", which made us know each other a lot more than before.
It was our last usrah, so we decided to end it with potluck, we brought foods to eat and share together. For me, it is the effort of each participants to commit in the usrah. Even the foods were not cheap, some of us even brought pizzas. The appreciation that we had for others are so valuable. After eating, we also took some pictures together and did gift exchange with one another.
This was the material used in the usrah:
I am now writing this after the usrah has ended, at first, I was a bit stressed with the usrah. Being unable to speak in Malay, the mother tongue, has made me so stressful. I wasn't able to explain and communicate properly. But looking at how struggle the instructor has been to convey the knowledge to us, is somewhat admirable. Although it is like a meeting, I didn't really talk to others, but only once or twice, I spoke to one or two persons. I thought that they are the quiet type, and I also didn't know how to initiate a conversation with a stranger. But when one of us started to talk in Malay, I think that my soul has come back, and I was happy because I got to talk to my usrah friends. But still, we do respect the usrah being held in English. We only used Malay when we are discussing some matters with one another, to help us understand better.
What I learnt to this day is that we have to be more honest with ourself. We have to be brave and take that one big step. Even if it is kind of scary at first, but surely, if Allah wills it, everything will be just fine. I also want to share these verses from the Holy Quran. In Surah Ash-Sharh, chapter 94, verses 5 and 6, "So, surely with hardship comes ease.", "Surely in (that) hardship comes (more) ease."
