Assalamualaikum and hello everyone!
My name is Nur Sakinah Binti Mohammed Alam, a student of Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature (BARBM) in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). In this blog, I will share with you about my journey in the course CCUB 1061, one of the unicore subjects that is needed to be fulfilled during my study in the university.
To be exact, this course highlights important concepts for Muslims: Islam, Iman and Ihsan as well as other selected issues related to Muslims daily life such as adab, eschatology, and balanced personality. This also means that this course helps us, as participants, in becoming a better Muslim, as well as our well-being towards the society and the nature. The course is called "Usrah 1". The word "Usrah" is a word in Arabic, which means "family". In this course, the participants are required to share their thoughts and knowledge. Thus, it helps us to be more confident in our communication skills as we will engage in a series of discussions and other co-curricular activities.
The course requires me to participate every Tuesday night for 7 weeks. In the first week, the instructor asked us to introduce ourselves. Self-introduction is really important, even more when you are engaging with new people. After all of the participants had done the introduction, the instructor proceeded to explain about the course outline, what we will learn in the course and the tasks we needed to do to complete this course.
